A warm summer day brought
neighbors
together for the
Annual Fourth of July
Celebration
at Elmside Circle Park.
After the helium filled
balloon
arch was floating, celebrants arrived to register
their decorated bikes and
wagons.
There was one parade with only
neighbors, and another after the fire engine arrived.
After the parade, the fire
hydrant was opened to cool off the celebrants.
There was
watermelon spitting
contest, a friendl sprinkler,
tie-dyeing t-shirts,
water balloon
launching, and lastly, a neighborhood potluck supper.
When the day was over,
folks
watched small scale fireworks down the block or off
to the Lake Monona shoreline
to see the Monona fireworks.
